Autumn is definitely one of my favourite times of the year (of course, second to Christmas), I just find the whole atmosphere of Autumn very relaxing and calming. It's at that stage where it's starting to get a little colder, but not too unbearable because there's still a decent amount of sunshine - Which makes it just the right temperature to cuddle up in some blankets and stick a film on without feeling like a total sloth. Ideal, right?
So I thought I'd just create a little list of all of the best things to do in Autumn, that will make you feel relaxed, calm and happy, without spending (hardly) any money.

1. CANDLES - How do these little things bring so much joy? I have no idea, but one things for sure is everyone loves a good candle. Whether it be a big round scented expensive fancy one, or just a basic little tealight that costs a couple of pennies - candles have the ability to make a room feel relaxing. And when a room feels relaxed, you feel relaxed! Perfecto! If your a big fan of scented candles, but not keen on spending too much money, Primark have some excellent value candles in a range of amazing scents. My personal favourite from there is the Vanilla and Coconut - they smell amazing. However, if your looking for a scent that's a bit more seasonal, I'd definitely recommend taking a trip to HomeSense . In all honesty, it's not a store I go into often, but I'm not sure why - because it's actually really great! I took a trip last week and ended up spending a good 30 minutes with my nose stuck in the ends of candles taking huge inhales and soaking up all that autumnal goodness. I eventually settled on a beautiful smelling Pecan & Pumpkin candle, but I honestly could have bought them all. If your not familiar with the store, it's really great for seasonal items, so I'd definitely recommend a visit.

2. PLAY IN THE LEAVES - Yes, I am 21 years old, and yes, I still have the mind of a 7 year old. But if you're not super tempted to kick all of the fallen autumn leaves around, then you are simply too sensible - and that's no fun at all. Every one still has an inner child inside of them, and that child has gotta be set free from time to time. So reserve all of that sensible energy for work or study time, then as soon as your out of that office you kick those leaves girl.

3. CARVE A PUMPKIN - If you're feeling frustrated this is the perfect little fix to relax and let off some steam; Not only do you get to brutally stab a pumpkin for a few hours but you can take your mind off everything by focusing all of your energy into your pumpkin. It's also a great way to get your creative juices flowing; Pinterest is a great place to start for your pumpkin design- whether your looking for just a simple template, or searching for an elaborate design that might take you 5 hours - this is the place to find it. Call me sad, but I've been pinning away some pumpkin designs for the last few weeks - which you can find here . The picture below features some of mine and my house mates creations from last year... I clearly wasn't feeling the whole 'spooky' vibe, so I opted to create a Minion- fun and a bit different! (apologies for the 'rude' one from my 'mature' flat mate)

4. ALL THE HOT DRINKS - Everyone who's got Instagram (Literally everyone now - even my mother *sigh*) knows that a cute little cup can cheer up even the most miserable of souls. And Starbucks definitely got one over us all this year with these lovely cups that just summarised the season and prompted every single blogger to take part in a bit of free advertising by sharing endless snaps all over Insta. Personal favourite A/W drinks of mine would include (obviously) the Pumpkin Spice Latte - the limited time only flavour that grabs our hearts (and taste buds) at this time of year. However, if you're not a fan of the PSL, a large... sorry, Venti Hot Chocolate with a shot of caramel, whipped cream and mini marshmallows is the second perfect autumn treat for a chilly day!

5. COSY BLANKETS - Because when you're sat at home with your candles burning and hot chocolate ready to go, the perfect icing on top of the cake is to snuggle up in a blanket and let the world go by (some cake wouldn't be too bad either). Get comfy, stick on  film - better yet, stick on a franchise; that's a rainy afternoon sorted! I can't think of anything warmer or more autumnal than a cosy Sunday afternoon in watching back to back Harry Potter films? Am I right?

6. WATCH THE SUN GO DOWN - Without a doubt, Autumn has the prettiest sunsets you will see all year round. It might just be me getting all deep here, but I'm always so happy and relaxed whenever I catch sight of an amazing skyline. All of your little problems can be put on pause for a while just by knowing that there's so much natural beauty around. And you should enjoy those moments as much as humanly possible.

So there's just a few ways you can wind down for cheap, due to the lovely seasonal atmosphere. Hope you've enjoyed this little post.
