CURRENT TRENDS AND HOW TO WEAR THEM

So whats big this season? Spring 2017 brings bright colours, feminine prints and a bit of an 'oversized everything' attitude. I don't know about you, but by this point in the year I'm entirely done with February and the cold mornings and dark nights it brings. But with already February half gone, and March just around the corner, I can't wait to get a taste of spring weather and the styling that comes with it. Less layers, thinner coats and shoes that don't require socks... ah the warm life! So heres a few things I'm feeling for spring...

Flared, bell or fluted... whatever your calling them, there's one thing for sure - this trend isn't going anywhere fast. Versatile in that it can be adapted to tops, jumpers, dresses, long sleeves, 3/4 sleeves or half, there's a sure motto of 'the bigger the better' going round. Here's a few of my favourite sleeves on the highstreet right now...

If there's one trend prediction I'm making this year, it's the death of the skinny jean. The super skinny style has definitely had it's day and more, and personally, i'm ready for the change. We're saying goodby skinnies and hello loose fits, straight legs, high waists and frayed hems! Mom jeans are having a real moment right now, but who knows if this will last much longer. For a long-term investment, opt for a straight but not-too-90's cut.

I've never been a pink wearer, but recently I've found myself more and more attracted to the colour. I enjoy the colour most when it features on a loose fitting, masculine style item. The contrast between the masculine shape and feminine tones really make the clothing come to life. If like me your not a pink gal, ease yourself in to the trend with duty rose tones and blush hues, rather than heading straight for barbie girl pink.

Probably the easiest trend to wear this spring is ruffles! Just a small ruffle detail can make a big statement on an otherwise simple top. But as I said earlier, this season is all about that oversized attitude. Big frills = big dreams. If you want to stand out in fashion you mustn't be afraid to go a little bigger!

Inspired by the dreamboat Gucci shoes we all know and love, this season waves farewell to our chunky boots and welcomes in the easy slip on style elegant loafer. I'm not used to wearing a backless shoe so early in the year, but i definitely plan to embrace some of these gorgeous styles as soon as the weather allows it!
