different denim fashion blogger styles denim outfits
Denim is everywhere at the minute, and I'm not just talking your regular pair of blue jeans. This seasons trends seem to have the denim-look flowing from all directions. Until recently, I've never really been a fan of blue denim; for years, I continuously repurchased the similar style of black skinny denim jeans. However, since I was ever so kindly gifted a pair of blue Paige Denim Jeans from Jules B last year (these beauties!), I've fallen back in love with blue denim! So today's post is a little run through of my current favourite high street picks with a few ways you can style up denim a little differently this Spring/Summer.

The Double Denim

This look is a bit like Marmite; you either love it, or you hate it! A few years ago the Double Denim outfit would have been considered a complete fashion faux pas. Even just the phrase would bring back horrifying flashbacks of 2001 Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake's *not so glam* red carpet look. Yet now, in 2016, it seems to be making a huge comeback. Just search double denim on Pinterest, and you'll stumble across all your favourite bloggers and celebs styling the best double denim combos around - and nailing the look too!

The All Black Denim

The denim jacket - but not how your used to it! When you think of a denim jacket, your usually thinking of the classic 90's boxy style button up with a collar. But this this H&M Biker Jacket is mixing up the material and styles of two classic jackets to create a really modern and unique look. Styled with black skinny jeans, a statement belt and some super light grey accessories, makes a perfect outfit for one of the cooler days of Spring (lets face it - most of them are freezing still).

The Dressy Denim

This look is perfect for a beautiful sunny day in England. Most of the time, it just never gets warm enough to wear arms out AND legs out at the same time, so this dress is the perfect balance due to the full body cover on top. Teamed with camel accessories and these beautiful little ASOS boots it makes a chic yet easy to wear outfit.

The Spring Denim

The denim look doesn't always mean the material has to be thick & heavy denim. Lyocell is a great lightweight alternative for the summer months, as its way less heavy to wear and way more flexible and comfortable, whilst still giving that denim-effect. If your not ready to take on the double denim all blue look just yet, white jeans are a great way to style denim tops, as the colour combination is way more subtle, but makes a lovely outfit for summer. I'm also currently loving red accessories at the minute - not a colour I ever normally veer towards, but I definitely need to incorporate more colour into my wardrobe, so I'm just going with it!
P.S.For some reason it wouldn't let me link the original Lyocell Tunic I picked out in the first outfit layout, so if you're looking for that one your can find it here

So that's the four denim looks that I'm currently thinking about incorporating into my Spring/Summer wardrobe. Let me know your favourites, and leave me links for any other great 'different denim' items!

If you caught up with my previous post, you might be able to tell from these pictures that I couldn't resist the temptation anymore, so decided to turn my wishlist into a shopping list! As I explained last week, I'm really not a pink person! I've shamefully become a creature of habit with my style lately, and find myself continuously throwing on a pair of black jeans with a black and white striped top... I'll then go shopping and buy myself ANOTHER striped top. How many stripey tops can a girl have you ask? Too many. I've finally accepted that there may be a point where enough is enough. So when I ventured into H&M last week, I was pleasantly surprised that something caught my eye that wasn't black. There was a whole section dedicated to these dusty pink tones - a colour I don't think I've ever worn before, and yet everything just looked really lovely. Top points to the visual merchandiser in that store because I took it all to the changing room! I ended up buying 4 items - a Jumper, Jeans, Hat and Bag which I thought complimented each other really well, and would also make a lovely outfit this Spring.

I also thought all of the items I picked up were really good value - a pair of jeans for £14.99 - I can't really argue with that! I'm really looking forward to styling these jeans - as they're so different from anything I own at the minute. My style isn't really used to pink tones so I wanted to make them look a bit less girly by styling them with an oversized jumper. I think the masculinity of the baggy jumper evens out the girlyness of the pink colour, which definitely suits my personal style more. I think they will look great in spring with a casual white shirt. Or worn with a plain white tee and a cream blazer. Lots of ideas - so look out for them in future posts!

I think it's really beneficial to experiment with personal style every once in a while. Just by switching a little something up in your wardrobe and trying out something new, it can instantly give you that little confidence boost to get out of fashion ruts. Retail therapy is real! (or at least that's what I keep telling myself when I see my bank statement... oops!)

Also to my delight, the sun made a rare appearance the day after I made these purchases, so I'm taking that as a sign that I made the right decision and Spring really is on its way now (fingers crossed). I was honestly starting to forget what sunshine was! I know I keep saying it but I'm sooooo ready for Summer now. In my last post I mentioned that me and Sam were thinking of booking another mini getaway to Budapest... well - that happened! Yay!!! We're jetting off to Budapest at the end of April! I'm so excited! I would love to hear any recommendations of must-do things if any one reading has any, let me know in the comments!
