If there's one strange thing I love doing, it's definitely putting far too much effort into making a great home-made fancy dress costume! This year one of my friends threw a Halloween party, and I'm not really one for the classic red blood, terrible wig, raggy clothes, dead look. So I opted for something I love instead - Disney Pixar!
Mrs Incredible seemed like a good option. So here's my step by step guide as to how you can create this look on a low cost...
What you need:
Red Top - Bought from Primark - £2.50 (Similar HERE)
Red Tights - Bought from Primark (Get a High Denier) - £1 - (Similar HERE)
Over the Knee Black Socks - Primark - £2 - (Similar HERE)
Black gloves - Amazon - £2 - (Available HERE)
Black Mask - Amazon - 90p - (Available HERE)
Black Stretch Hot Pants - Primark - £1 - (Similar HERE)
Waist Amount of Yellow Material and Thread - Bought from Haberdashery store - £2 - (Similar HERE)
Iron on Incredible logo - Amazon - £1.89 - (Available HERE)
Once you have all these items then all you need to do is 2 steps.
1) Iron on your transferable logo to the centre of your red long sleeve t-shirt. The logo should come with basic instructions, they are very quick and easy to do.
2) (The hardest part) Take the yellow material and wrap it around your waist to measure. Cut to width size and then cut to the thickness of a belt width. If there are any messy edges on your cutting, simply fold these to the inside then iron down the straight edges so they stay flat. Then, whilst wearing your hot pants, place the band around your waist area and pin to place on the top section of the hot pants. Once this is done you can either take the pants off and sew into place. Or if you have a helpful friend, they can sew it into place whilst your wearing them (this makes it easier because the hotpants are stretched to the right position). Either way will work.
Now put that black mask on and you're ready to go!
Hope this has been helpful!
